Camamu - Dendê Coast

One of the oldests brazilian cities, Camamu has 440 years of existance along the third biggest brazilian bay. The city origin is a indian village from 1560. They were catechized by jesuits who built Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Macamamu chapel. A pier is the starting point to all Camamu's bay attractives. How to get there Is 348 Km from Salvador and 180 Km from Itaparica Island - Overland By car: take the BR-324 (road) and, before arriving in Feira de Santana, take BR-101 (road) to the south direction until the junction with Valença, then take BA-001 (road). The total trajectory is 335 km. By bus: leave from Salvador Bus Terminal. - Sea Cross the All Saints' Bay by the Ferry-Boat system that leaves from Salvador to Bom Despacho (Itaparica Island). Getting there, take the BA-001 (road) and cross six cities - Nazaré, Valença, Taperoá, Nilo Peçanha, Ituberá and Igrapiúna - before arriving.
