Caravelas received the title of "Abrolhos Princess" because of its beautiful beaches, some mangroves and islands. Besides that, it's the main entrance to the Abrolhos Marine National Park (in portuguese: Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos), that is considered one of the best places in the whole world to practice diving.

Overland
- By car: leave Salvador by BR-324 (road) until BR-101 and heading to Caravelas.
- By bus: by Itabuna, Eunápolis, Prado, Alcobaça. Length of trip: 8 hours.
