Mangue Seco - Coqueiros Coast

Mangue Seco is the last beach of Bahia's northern coast, in the border with the state of Sergipe. The beauty of this local was showed in a soap-opera called "Tieta", inspired in the romance "Tieta do Agreste" written by Jorge Amado. Its few streets are covered with fine and soft sand. The mix between freshwater and salt water propitiates the formation of extensive mangrove areas and abundance of seafood. On the beach, the coconut palms curve itself above the water. Along the shore, there are hotels, bars, restaurants and fishermen houses. There's a good touristic structure. How to get there Is 250km from Salvador - Overland The access to Mangue Seco might be done from Pontal, in Sergipe. This city is 250 km from Salvador. Leaving from Salvador, take the Paralela avenue, Estrada do Coco (BA-099) and, after that, Green Line road (Linha Verde). Pontal is 28 km from the border between the states of Bahia and Sergipe. Visitors must cross the Real River by boat or the beach using a 4WD vehicle or even walking from the Blue Coast at low tide. If you wish crossing the river, you must let your car in some parking lot of Pontal.
