Nova Viçosa - Baleias Coast

Located between Caravelas and Mucuri, Nova Viçosa is one of the entrances of Abrolhos National Marine Park (in portuguese: Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos). Its littoral attracts tourists that are looking forward to enjoy the beaches, rivers and islands (Barra Velha and Coroa Vermelha). Also, the place called "centrinho" is full of simple and colourful houses. How to get there It's 900km from Salvador. - Overland By car: take the BR-101 road until BA-698, that goes through Mucuri to arrive in Nova Viçosa. By bus: Leaving from Salvador to Teixeira de Freitas. There you get a bus to Nova Viçosa. - Aerial There are daily flights to Porto Seguro International Airport. From Porto Seguro, you can get bus to Teixeira de Freitas and then to Mucuri and Nova Viçosa. The Abaeté Linhas Aéreas (flight company) also takes clients to Caravelas and it's possible to get a bus there and go until Nova Viçosa. Pantanal Linhas Aéreas (flight company) has a daily flight, from monday to friday, departing from Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo, to Mucuri.
