Located between hillsides and large mangroves of Serinhaém Canal, Ituberá is an important region of the southern part o Bahia state. The Santarém River cross the city, that also has the Cágados River. Castro Alves waterfall is located in an urban chapter of it. The city owns accommodations, restaurants and a pier on the Serinhaém Canal the takes you to some villages. The beaches are far from Ituberá center. The most visited are Pratigi, Barra de Serinhaém and Boca da Lagoa.
How to get there
- Overland
By car: leaving from Salvador take BR-324 (road), do 98 km and then take BR-101 (road) to the south until Santo Antônio de Jesus crossing the cities of Nazaré and Valença.
By bus: buses daily depart from the Salvador Bus Terminal to Canavieira.

By ferry: ships leave from Salvador to Itaparica Island each hour. Getting there, take a bus to Ituberá.
